A Stranger's Relationship

I

She looks at him
He looks at her
She stares at him
He stares at her
She looks away
He looks at her

II

She calls him a name
that's probably not his

They play this game
everyday

Speaking through
stranger's eyes

Their conversations vary
in length and time

III

She walks in one day
smiling about the place
until she realize she doesn't
see her stranger's face

Where is he?
She wonders, feeling
kind of displaced

Feeling empty
in their little space

She questions herself,
had she been replaced?

IV

She looked at him
He looked at her
She stared at him
He stared at her
She looked away
He went away
to another cafe
stayed all day

Whispers Beneath Conversations

listen, listen
to what is unspoken
for what has not been heard
through good ears says more
than what is said in simple
conversation
what is underneath everyday
words lies a whole other
conversation
filled with thoughts and honesty
that will never be spoken

How Wild It Is, To Be Free

(Title inspiration "How wild it was, to let it be." Cheryl Strayed)

I run fast down the open road

No cars pass by me

The subtle breeze blows my hair wild

All I see is in front of me

The lost, found, and forgotten can be seen here

Living in a time not connected to our universe

It is here

I find freedom

West - East

Flowers reflected in the water at sunset
Colors blending in the many ripples of the sea
Your eyes couldn't see the difference
For the red and blue blurred
Beginning where the sunset disappeared into the endless water
Your beautiful blue eyes shed tears
Adding to the flowers and the ripples
For the beauty was perfect and reminded you of me

Flowers reflected in the water at daybreak

Coming up from the sea

While I drink my English tea

Red roses enhance the pink clouds of the summer morning

It's beautiful, reminded me of you

All the moments we once shared now live in the past
Knowing what we had would never last
It was perfect but perfect isn't real
And neither were me and you

It's been a while

Time has passed

I have moved forward

But the sunrise pink and yellow
Mixing with the roses in the water
Brought up thoughts of you that made me smile

You wanted what I could never give you
You saw a woman I never was
You've always been lost
You weren't able to find a piece of yourself in me

You helped me see what I could be

Helped me breathe I set you free

I found myself in the colors that begin the day

I think of you from far away

IV - II.XX.XVI

Ice is melting towards the east leaving a sliver in the west

Some seagulls float in the water, others stand on the ice

Reflecting the world above breaking like fragile glass

Wondering what it is they're standing on

It mirrors life back to what the soul sees

The ones floating look on

Enjoying what they're used to doing

Not risking standing on something foreign

Creatures of the sea lost on a lake

Nowhere near where they're supposed to be

I write what inspires me

I look at what's intriguing to my small brain

Reflecting on how I feel in art pieces

For they reflect my soul at a moment which will never occur twice

What inspires me drives me to create

To see the world in ways that were never possible

Until a single thought came in

And changed the color of my eyes

Allowing me to see in colors not yet discovered

For they are normally blinded by the sun

Or hidden in the darkness of the night

We cannot change once we're gone

Gone on the open road

Through the endless sky

Dazzled by the glittering universe above each star sparkling

Creating an illusion of peace which we all believe

The constant hurry of time

Time to get things done

Time to see the world

Time to stop being busy

Time to wonder why

Time to find time

We're always searching for what's not there

Hoping the clock will be ticking wherever we go

Hoping we'll be everything we want before we're gone

Gone on that open road

Through the clouds above

We're told to know who we are before we're born

It's not said but known amongst a society

That expects nothing less coming out of the womb of DNA

Telling us who we're supposed to be

Before nature destroys everything we'll never have

Leaving us scratching our bald heads

Wondering when did everything make sense

And will anything ever be calm

As we see in films on lost history

We'll never have a chance to find out

Who we're actually meant to be
