Chaotic Hours

My hours are married to the minutes that have already passed

one and two are gone

three is right
behind

four

is

counting

time

five cannot
be found

six is over there

seven is staying with eight

eight is looking away

nine is passing time

ten is

missing

five

eleven is seeing double

twelve is already in tomorrow

am is blurred with pm

as night and light merge together

They are one within the doubles I find throughout the day

Stars Across The Night

Fireworks begin the celebratory night
All is good, all is right
For a minute the negativity in life is pushed aside
Red white blue
Pretty lights spreading sparkling color
Across the dark sky lit by dimmed stars
Glistens the eyes of young children
In awe of the spectacular sight
A birthday is to be remembered
This country is no exception
It is the place we call home
