people who put other people down.

Why do we love to make someone feel bad about themselves?

We all have done it at least once in our lives, and if you have a sibling then you've done it more times then you can remember. I never understood why people do this on purpose though. Putting someone down to make themselves feel better is absolutely disgusting and never okay. When teenagers bully a classmate in high school, what they don't understand how much that affects them for the rest of their lives.
Bullies have always been around but now with the internet and social media it's become a lot easier to make fun of people because you don't see their reaction. You can say post something mean and it's out their for the world to see and it never goes away. Hiding behind a computer screen does not make posting something hurtful okay. Saying something to someone online or through text that you would never say in real life is childish.

As much as people say words don't hurt, they truly do. A hurtful comment stays with you longer than a gracious compliment. What hurts the most is when the one putting you down is someone you thought was your friend. Someone you thought you could trust and confide in. They talk to you when they want to and ignore you when they don't. Only talking to someone when you want to talk to them and only talking about yourself is not a friendship, it's free therapy.

Think about what you say to the people in your life and how that might effect them, both positively and negatively. What you say to people tells a lot about who you are.

If you say something mean and you know it, apologize and learn from what you said. Deal with how you're feeling inside and talk to someone about it. Realize what you're saying and how you would feel if that was said to you.

If you're the one being put down, talk to someone you trust about it and figure out how to deal with your feelings in a healthy way and never hold them in. It's better to tell someone how you're feeling than keeping them locked up inside you. Never try to fight back because that makes you a bully too and causes more problems.

Some people are just mean in life, but you shouldn't let those people bring you down.

It's okay to be yourself. Don't let others or society tell you who to be. We all walk a different path in life. Be who you're meant to be because you are beautiful.

Kelly.
